The University of Manchester joins Opening the Future at Boydell & Brewer

Boydell & Brewer are pleased to announce that the University of Manchester is now a subscribing member to our Opening the Future program.

The library has opted to subscribe to a combined package of 150 DRM-free eBooks that cover topics from African Studies to Medieval History & Language, and Dance and Performing Arts. Manchester’s researchers, teaching staff, and students have concurrent multi-user access to all of these books and, after 3 years of membership to OtF, the library will retain perpetual access to all 150 titles.

As with all other OtF members, Manchester’s fees will be pooled with those from our other members and will go towards producing 3 or 4 planned new open access books due out (hopefully) in summer 2027. We’ll update our website and our members when we have more details on exactly which titles these will be. 

The new books will be freely available to download from OAPEN, JSTOR and other open platforms.
